kulturen in bewegung  is

• the arts and culture initiative at VIDC, the Vienna Institute for International Dialogue and Cooperation
• dedicated to arts and culture from Africa, Asia and Latin-America in Austria. For the past 15 years, kulturen in bewegung has operated as a center of competence in this field.
• a hub for the exchange of artists, hosts and people who are interested in culture

We firmly believe that innovative business models play important roles in the economic upswing of so-called developing countries: frugal innovation, flexible infrastructures, or the development of autonomous, small-scale production-units, are just a few of the manifold examples of such innovative trends. That's why we iniatiated a project in the sector of creative industries in the course of the Southnovation- Workshops for Ideas on the 7th and 8th of Mai 2013 in Graz (official UNESCO City of Design). Chances in the sense of possible influences on the creative economic processes from the south have been discussed. kulturen in bewegung ist die Kunst- und Kulturinitiative am VIDC und ein Kompetenzzentrum für Kunst und Kultur aus Afrika, Asien und Latein­amerika in Österreich. Ziel ist es, einen Dialog in Gleichberechtigung und Vielfalt bei aller Verschiedenheit der Kulturen zu ermöglichen. Bei den Projekten stehen professionelle Kunst- und Kulturereignisse, begleitende entwicklungs­politische Informationsarbeit und der persönliche Austausch im Mittelpunkt.

Im Projekt Südnovation Ideen Werkstatt am 7. und 8. Mai 2013 im Rahmen des Designmonats Graz ging's darum, den Beitrag von innovativen Wirtschaftsmodellen  zum Aufschwung von sog. Entwicklungsländern zu zeigen : Sparsame Produktionsverfahren (frugal innovation), Upcycling, flexible Infrastrukturen, oder das Entstehen autonomer, kleinteiliger Produktionseinheiten, sind nur einige wenige Beispiele dieser innovativen Trends.

Im Zuge der Südnovation Ideen Werkstatt wurden Chancen im Sinne einer Einflussnahme auf die kreativen Wirtschaftsprozesse in Europa ausgetauscht. Mehr hier.
