Organized by COSPE, Dalla Parte Giusta della Storia, Parliamentary Intergroup for Citizenship and the Next Generation Association of Bologna as part of the European project EMV-LII (Empowering Migrant Voices for Local Integration and Inclusion), the three-day event will feature a series of training meetings for participants and public events, debates and testimonies from politicians, associations, activists and various civil society actors.
On October 19th from 9.30 to 12.30 in Piazza Lucio Dalla “Nasci, cresci e ti Prendi Cura dell’Italia ” opens to the public with many guests including Ouidad Bakkali, Parliamentary Intergroup for Citizenship and Riccardo Magi – Secretary +EUROPA: this will be the opportunity to retrace the process and the troubled history of the right to citizenship in Italy. A theme that has its roots in the 90s and that, today more than ever, demands an urgent legislative change. But it will also be the place to listen to and tell the stories, experiences and aspirations of those fighting for a more equal and multicultural society , addressing current challenges and proposing concrete solutions for an inclusive reform of the citizenship law.
Today, the issue of citizenship is at the center of political and social debate. The over 600,000 signatures collected for the Citizenship Referendum confirm that Italy is ready to take a decisive step forward.
