The study visit aimed to empower migrant voices through a series of meetings and study visits taking place in Čakovec and Zagreb from November 11th to 14th, 2024. The agenda included interactive sessions, cultural exchanges, and visits to pivotal locations that support migrant integration and training.
The week started in Čakovec at the Multimedia hall of the Međimurje Treasury Museum. Initial activities included introductory talks and meeting sessions, followed by a tour of local integration projects such as the Čakovec Community Centre Platform and the Association Kalinka. These sessions were designed to provide an understanding of local efforts and to facilitate a framework for exchange among project partners on integration strategies and practices.
The following days in Zagreb further discussions were held as well as meetings at the One-Stop Shop with focus ranging from advocacy and communication workshops to baseline assessments of ongoing project activities. The partners also engaged with city officials to understand better the coordination of integration activities within the urban context of Zagreb. Cultural programs interwoven with the meetings like film screenings and culinary experiences at local restaurants aimed to blend learning with cultural appreciation.
This study visit not only emphasizes the importance of cross-sector collaboration but also highlights the ongoing commitment of multiple organizations which are part of the project consortium to foster inclusive environments through dialogue and knowledge sharing.
