ALODO – Helfende Hände (Helping Hands)

Description

ALODO was founded in 2004 as a nonprofit association in lower austria. The main objective is the promotion of education in Togo as well as in Austria to lower poverty and injustice in the world. ALODO tries to contribute to a pluralistic and peaceful society where young people have the possibility to create their own future. Therefore the central activities are:
  • the implementation of development projects in Togo as well as other African countries (e.g. building of schools, reconstruction of schools, water supply, health care)
  • awareness raising
  • to foster intercultural dialogue and communication (e.g. building of partner groups in Austria and Togo for cultural exchange)
In Lomé (Togo) the mother association ALODO was already founded in 1987 in the context of the military dictatorship and was not officially recognized. Currently ALODO is searching for volunteers who could assist to set up the association's website. Furthermore new members who would like to actively participate in the association's activities are very welcome. ALODO is searching for partner organizations for cooperation and the implementation of planned projects in Togo and Ghana as well as for the exchange of ideas.
