Sunny Skies Women’s Project

The purpose for the project was to set up a formal civil society organization Sunny Skies Women's Project in the "slum" village in Kampala and mobilize women and children for self-help and improvement of their own  living conditions. Besides setting up the new organisation, the project wanted to link products produced within the project (for example jewellery)  with the European Fair Trade; to enable exchange of experiences by bringing women  to Slovenia to build their knowledge; to empower women by organising  capacity building events of reproductive rights as one of the most basic human rights. The project, by addressing empowerment of women and gender equality, was in a line with the third Millennium Development Goal.
